Prepare surfaces by cleaning, grinding, and fitting components; align and clamp parts for welding.
Perform tack welding, root passes, fill and cap passes as required.
Inspect welds visually and with basic NDE methods (dye penetrant, magnetic particle) or prepare for advanced NDE (ultrasonic, radiographic).
Measure and mark parts; maintain dimensional tolerances.
Maintain welding equipment and hand tools; report and tag defective equipment.
Keep work area clean and follow shop organization (5S) and lean practices where applicable.
