Cyber security Analyst

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Continuously monitor networks, systems, and security tools (especially SIEM platforms) for suspicious activity, alerts, and potential threats.
Investigate security incidents and breaches in real time, determine impact, identify root causes, and respond (contain, eradicate, recover).
Perform vulnerability assessments and scans, prioritize findings, and coordinate remediation (patching, configuration changes).
Install, configure, and maintain security tools such as firewalls, encryption software, antivirus/EDR, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
Conduct threat research, stay current on emerging threats (malware, ransomware, phishing, etc.), and analyse attack patterns (often using frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK).
Prepare detailed reports on incidents, metrics, attempted attacks, and security posture for management and audits.
