Rigger

Planning lifts: Assessing loads (weight, dimensions, center of gravity) to determine the safest method and equipment for moving them
Selecting equipment: Choosing appropriate rigging gear — slings, shackles, chains, wire rope, hooks, blocks, and pulleys — based on load requirements
Rigging setup: Attaching and securing loads using ropes, cables, chains, and hoisting equipment
Operating/directing lifts: Signaling crane or hoist operators (often using hand signals or radio), or operating rigging equipment directly
Inspecting equipment: Checking rigging gear, cables, and hardware for wear, damage, or defects before and after use.
