Well Planning & Design
Design drilling programs, including well trajectory, casing design, and drilling fluid (mud) programs
Select appropriate drilling equipment, bits, and technology for specific geological conditions
Estimate drilling costs, timelines, and resource requirements
Develop well control procedures and contingency plans
Operations Oversight
Monitor drilling operations in real-time (often via a rig site or remote operations center)
Troubleshoot problems such as stuck pipe, lost circulation, kicks (unwanted fluid influx), or equipment failure
Coordinate with rig crews, mud engineers, geologists, and directional drillers
Ensure drilling stays on schedule and within budget.
