Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate a team of laundry attendants (often across shifts), assigning tasks, monitoring productivity, and ensuring daily production targets are met (sorting, washing, drying, ironing/pressing, folding, storing, and distributing clean items).
Train new and existing staff on equipment operation, chemical safety, quality standards, stain treatment, folding techniques, and health/safety procedures.
Perform or oversee all stages of linen processing; often step in to work alongside the team during peak times or staff shortages.
Conduct quality inspections: identify stains, damage, or wear; manage rewash programs; remove unusable items and document discards/losses.
Manage inventory of linens (par levels/counts), chemicals, detergents, and supplies; order replenishments and track usage to control costs.
