Core responsibilities:
Operate and maintain production systems: ensure availability, performance, and capacity.
Incident response & postmortems: lead or participate in on-call rotations, diagnose and remediate incidents, produce RCA and corrective actions.
Observability: design and maintain monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and logging (SLO/SLI-driven).
Automation & tooling: automate runbooks, deployments, configuration, and scaling to reduce manual work.
Release safety: enforce safe deployment practices, implement CI/CD improvements and canary/blue-green strategies.
Performance & capacity planning: analyze usage trends and plan infrastructure growth/cost optimization.
Reliability engineering: implement fault-tolerance, chaos testing, and redundancy patterns.
