Painter

Key responsibilities / duties:

Read work orders, blueprints, product labels, and specifications to determine materials, tools, and procedures.
Prepare surfaces: clean, sand, scrape, patch holes/cracks, remove old coatings (chemical strippers, sanding, pressure washing).
Mask and protect non-painted surfaces (drop cloths, tape, masking film).
Mix and match paints, stains, and primers; thin/strain paint when required.
Apply coatings by brush, roller, or spray equipment; apply primers, undercoats, and finish coats to specification.
Inspect finished work for quality (uniform coverage, smooth finish, proper adhesion); perform touch-ups.
Maintain and clean equipment and work area; dispose of waste and solvents per regulations.
