Key responsibilities:
Operate assigned crane(s) (mobile, tower, truck-mounted, crawler, overhead) to lift, move and place loads according to load charts and lift plans.
Read and interpret blueprints, rigging plans, lift diagrams, and load charts; verify weight, center of gravity and rigging requirements before lifts.
Select, inspect and attach rigging (slings, shackles, hooks, spreader bars) and signal/communicate with riggers and signal persons.
Conduct pre‑shift and pre‑lift inspections: daily equipment walk-arounds, safety systems, brakes, wire rope, boom, hydraulics and limit switches; document defects and tag out unsafe equipment.
Follow lift plans and directions from lift supervisor/engineer; work with rigging crew to position loads safely.
Maintain accurate logs (hours, inspections, maintenance requests) and report incidents/near misses immediately.
