Core responsibilities

Reading blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan pipe layouts and system designs.
Measuring, cutting, bending, threading, and joining pipes (using couplings, clamps, solder, cement, welding/brazing as needed).
Installing and connecting fixtures and appliances: sinks, toilets, showers, water heaters, dishwashers, washing machines, etc.
Installing, maintaining, and repairing water supply lines, drainage/waste lines, and sometimes gas lines.
Locating and fixing leaks, blockages, and broken components; unclogging drains with snakes, augers, hydro jets, or cameras.
Testing systems for leaks and proper pressure using gauges; performing backflow prevention device tests where required.
