Planning lifts: Reading blueprints, load charts, and lift plans to determine the safest and most efficient way to move a load
Selecting equipment: Choosing appropriate rigging gear — slings, chains, shackles, hooks, wire rope, cables, pulleys, hoists, and winches — based on the weight, shape, and balance of the load
Calculating load weight and capacity: Estimating the weight of objects and ensuring equipment and anchor points can safely handle the load, applying safety margins
Attaching and securing loads: Fastening rigging equipment to loads and lifting devices (cranes, hoists) to ensure secure, balanced movement.
