Key Responsibilities and Daily Duties
Develop individualized treatment plans that may combine medication, psychotherapy (talk therapy), lifestyle recommendations, and other interventions.
Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications (antidepressants, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, stimulants, anxiolytics), monitoring efficacy and side effects.
Provide or coordinate psychotherapy and other treatments (e.g., electroconvulsive therapy/ECT, transcranial magnetic stimulation/TMS, light therapy in some cases).
Collaborate with other professionals (psychologists, nurses, social workers, primary care doctors).
