Core Responsibilities:
Analyze loads (dead load, live load, wind, seismic, snow, etc.) acting on a structure
Design structural elements: beams, columns, foundations, slabs, trusses, frames
Select appropriate materials (steel, concrete, timber, masonry, composites)
Use structural analysis software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, RISA, Robot Structural Analysis)
Produce calculations, drawings, and specifications
Ensure designs comply with local building codes and standards (e.g., IBC, Eurocode, ACI, AISC)
Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, MEP engineers, and contractors
Conduct site visits and inspections during construction.
