Prepare treatment rooms, set up instrument trays, and sterilize/disinfect instruments and equipment following strict infection-control protocols.
Seat patients, review medical/dental histories, take vital signs (blood pressure, pulse), and help patients feel comfortable.
Assist the dentist during procedures (four-handed dentistry): pass instruments, manage suction, mix materials, dry the mouth, and anticipate needs.
Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays) where allowed by state law.
Provide post-procedure instructions and educate patients on oral hygiene (brushing, flossing, nutrition).
