Key Responsibilities:
Develop and enforce safety policies — create, update, and implement workplace health and safety programs in line with company goals and legal requirements
Ensure regulatory compliance — keep the organization compliant with OSHA (or local equivalent, e.g., HSE in the UK) standards and other relevant laws
Conduct inspections and audits — regularly inspect facilities, equipment, and processes to identify hazards
Risk assessment — evaluate workplace risks and design mitigation strategies
Incident investigation — investigate accidents, near-misses, and injuries; determine root cause and recommend corrective action.
