Core Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols
Select appropriate welding equipment, techniques, and materials for the job
Set up, operate, and maintain welding machinery (MIG, TIG, stick/arc, flux-core, etc.)
Cut, shape, and align metal components before welding
Inspect completed welds for defects, strength, and quality (visual checks, sometimes X-ray/ultrasonic testing)
Monitor and adjust heat settings to prevent warping or weakening the metal
Follow safety protocols — handling flammable gases, protective gear, ventilation.
