Typical Responsibilities
Design control systems for manufacturing, energy, utilities, transportation, or building automation
Develop control logic using PLCs, DCS, SCADA, HMIs, and industrial networks
Program and configure systems from vendors such as Siemens, Rockwell Automation, Schneider Electric, ABB, or Honeywell
Create electrical schematics, control-panel layouts, I/O lists, and system documentation
Integrate sensors, actuators, motors, drives, robots, and safety systems
Perform system simulations, factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, and commissioning
Troubleshoot hardware, software, instrumentation, and communication problems
Improve process efficiency, reliability, quality, and safety.
