Main duties:
Set up, operate, and monitor drilling rigs and equipment
Read drilling plans, geological surveys, and site instructions
Select and install drill bits, rods, casing, and related tools
Control drilling speed, pressure, depth, and direction
Collect rock, soil, or core samples
Inspect and maintain machinery
Record drilling progress, measurements, and equipment conditions
Identify hazards such as unstable ground, gas, water, or equipment failure
Follow safety, environmental, and site regulations.
