Core Responsibilities:
Monitoring & detection — Watch network traffic, system logs, and security alerts (via SIEM tools like Splunk, QRadar, or Microsoft Sentinel) for signs of intrusion or anomalies
Incident response — Investigate security breaches, contain threats, and coordinate remediation efforts
Vulnerability management — Run scans, identify weaknesses in systems/applications, and prioritize patching
Threat intelligence — Track emerging threats, malware trends, and attacker tactics (TTPs) relevant to the organization
Risk assessment — Evaluate security posture of systems, networks, and third-party vendors.
