Core Responsibilities
Preparing patients for treatment and getting the operatory ready with instruments and materials
Assisting the dentist chairside during procedures — passing instruments, suctioning, holding retractors
Taking and processing dental X-rays
Sterilizing and maintaining equipment, and keeping the treatment area compliant with infection-control standards
Taking impressions for study models or temporary crowns
Recording patient history and treatment notes.
