Core Responsibilities:
Well planning & design — Design drilling programs: well trajectory, casing design, mud (drilling fluid) program, bit selection, and cementing plans
Cost estimation — Prepare authorization for expenditure (AFE) documents and manage drilling budgets
Rig supervision — Coordinate with rig site supervisors (company men/drilling supervisors), contractors, and service companies during operations
Risk & safety management — Identify hazards (well control, pressure kicks, wellbore instability), design contingency plans, and ensure compliance with HSE regulations
Technical problem-solving — Troubleshoot issues like stuck pipe, lost circulation, kicks, and equipment failures in real time.
