Key Responsibilities:
Prepare surfaces before painting: cleaning, sanding, scraping off old paint, filling holes/cracks, applying primer
Select and mix paints, stains, and finishes to match specifications or color requirements
Apply paint/coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray guns
Cover and protect fixtures, floors, and surrounding areas (masking, drop cloths)
Set up and work safely on ladders, scaffolding, or lifts for high or hard-to-reach areas
Repair minor surface damage (drywall patching, wood filling) before painting
Estimate the amount of paint/materials needed for a job
Follow safety protocols, especially with fumes, lead paint (in older buildings), and working at height.
