Porter

Core responsibilities:

Move luggage, equipment, supplies, linens, samples, or patients safely and efficiently.
Deliver and collect items between departments/rooms/vehicles on time.
Maintain cleanliness of corridors, stairwells, storage and service areas; handle waste and recycling.
Operate basic material-handling equipment (dollies, carts); follow manual-handling procedures.
Report hazards, equipment faults, inventory shortages, and incidents to supervisors.
Assist with simple portering-related admin (logs, delivery records, patient transfer forms).

Typical qualifications & skills

No formal degree required
Physical fitness; able to lift and carry (specify weight limit if required).
Basic communication and customer-service skills.
Reliability, punctuality, and ability to follow safety procedures.
Experience in a related role (desirable); training in manual handling, first aid, or safe moving preferred.
