Inspects products/processes to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications, documents results, identifies nonconformances, and supports corrective actions to prevent defects.
Key responsibilities:
Inspect incoming materials, work‑in‑progress, and finished goods against drawings, specs and quality standards.
Perform dimensional, visual and functional inspections using gauges, calipers, micrometers, CMM, optical comparators, etc.
Record inspection results, produce inspection reports and maintain traceability (lot numbers, serials).
Use sampling plans (e.g., ANSI/ASQ Z1.4) and statistical process control (SPC) methods.
Identify, tag, segregate, and report nonconforming material; initiate quality nonconformance reports (NCRs).
Collaborate with production/engineering to troubleshoot defects and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPAs).
Support internal and external audits and maintain inspection/test equipment calibration logs.
Required qualifications & skills
High school diploma or equivalent; technical diploma or associate degree in manufacturing/quality preferred.
clear communication, teamwork, problem‑solving.
Ability to read engineering drawings and use GD&T basics.
Strong attention to detail, good documentation skills, and basic math/statistics.
