Shipping Clerk

Responsible for preparing, packing, staging, and shipping outbound customer and intercompany orders; receiving, inspecting, and storing incoming shipments; maintaining accurate shipping/receiving records; and coordinating  with carriers, warehouse teams, and customer service to ensure timely, damage-free delivery.

Core duties:

Pick, pack, label, and stage outbound orders according to packing slips and order requirements.
Inspect incoming shipments for correct quantities and visible damage; record discrepancies and report to supervisor.
Operate material-handling equipment as required (hand trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts — if certified).
Prepare shipping documentation (bills of lading, shipping labels, commercial invoices, packing lists).
Schedule and coordinate carrier pickups and drop-offs; obtain rate confirmations and tracking numbers.
Enter and update shipping/receiving data in the warehouse management system (WMS) / ERP; scan barcodes and file paperwork.

Required qualifications & skills:

Education: High school diploma or  equivalent, Attention to detail and accuracy (counts, labeling, paperwork).
Time management and ability to work under deadlines.
Teamwork and communication — coordinate with multiple departments.
Problem-solving — handle mis-ships, shortages, and carrier issues.
Dependability and punctuality.
