Structural Engineer

Core responsibilities:

Produce and review structural drawings, details, and specifications for construction.
Prepare calculation packages and design reports demonstrating code compliance.
Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, contractors, and clients.
Conduct site visits, construction observation, and resolve RFIs and submittals.
Perform forensic investigations, repairs, and retrofit designs as needed.
Mentor junior engineers and review their work.

Required qualifications & skills

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (BEng/BSc or equivalent).

Structural analysis and design theory (statics, dynamics, LRFD/ASD).
Strong working knowledge of building codes and standards (examples: ACI, AISC, ASCE 7, IBC, Eurocode, local codes).
Material knowledge: reinforced concrete, structural steel, timber, masonry, composites.
Seismic, wind, and load-path design principles.
