Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Personal care and hygiene: Helping with bathing/showering, dressing, grooming (hair, oral care, shaving, nail care), toileting, and incontinence care. Always done while protecting the client’s dignity and privacy.
Mobility assistance: Helping with walking, transferring (bed to chair, chair to toilet), repositioning, and using mobility aids safely.
Meal preparation and nutrition: Planning and preparing meals according to dietary needs/restrictions, grocery shopping, assisting with feeding if needed, and monitoring intake/hydration.
Medication support: Reminding clients to take medications, organizing pills, monitoring for side effects, and sometimes administering under supervision.
Required Qualifications and skills
High school Diploma or equivalent, safe transfer/handling techniques, basic health observation, time management, organization, and physical stamina (the job can be physically demanding), Compassion, empathy, patience, strong communication, reliability, discretion/confidentiality.
