Core responsibilities:
Read blueprints and building plans to determine layout and dimensions
Measure, mark, and lay out reference points for construction
Mix mortar, concrete, or grout to the correct consistency
Lay bricks, blocks, or stones in courses, applying mortar and aligning each unit using levels, plumb lines, and string lines
Cut and shape materials to fit around corners, openings, and custom designs
Build load-bearing and non-load-bearing walls, arches, and other structures
Install flashing, weep holes, and expansion joints for weatherproofing.
