Core Responsibilities:
Evaluate patients through interviews, psychological assessments, and sometimes lab tests or brain imaging
Diagnose mental health conditions (e.g., depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, ADHD, PTSD)
Prescribe and manage medications (antidepressants, mood stabilizers, antipsychotics, etc.)
Provide psychotherapy (talk therapy), often alongside medication management
Develop and adjust treatment plans over time
Monitor for side effects and drug interactions.
