Key Responsibilities and Duties
Supervise and coordinate personnel: Manage construction teams, tradespeople, and subcontractors. Delegate tasks, create work schedules, monitor performance, provide training/motivation, evaluate staff, and handle disciplinary issues when needed.
Enforce health and safety: Conduct regular site inspections, identify and eliminate hazards, enforce PPE and safety protocols, lead toolbox talks/inductions, manage incidents according to procedures, and ensure compliance with regulations (e.g., OSHA or local equivalents).
Monitor progress and quality: Track daily progress against plans/schedules, inspect work for compliance with blueprints, specifications, building codes, and quality standards. Raise and resolve non-conformances.
