Crane Operator

Controls heavy lifting equipment used to move materials, machinery, or structural components on construction sites, ports, warehouses, or industrial facilities. It’s a highly skilled, safety-critical role that requires precision, focus, and strict adherence to procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Controlling levers, pedals, and switches to lift, move, and position loads (mobile crane, tower crane, overhead/gantry crane, etc., depending on specialization).

Checking cables, hooks, brakes, hydraulics, and other mechanical systems before each shift to confirm the crane is safe to use.

Positioning and levelling the crane, extending outriggers, and assessing ground conditions before lifts.

Coordinating with signal persons, riggers, and ground crew using hand signals or radio communication throughout each lift.

Performing basic upkeep, lubrication, and reporting mechanical issues to maintenance teams

Requirements:

Degree is not mandatory, strong depth perception, hand-eye coordination, and spatial awareness, Physical stamina and ability to work at heights or in enclosed cabs for long periods and good communication skills and ability to stay calm under pressure.
