Core Responsibilities and Duties:
Programming and configuring Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) systems.
Modelling, simulating, and analysng system behaviour (often with MATLAB/Simulink or similar tools) to predict performance and refine designs.
Integrating control systems with electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and software components; collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Selecting and specifying sensors, actuators, instrumentation, networks, and control hardware.
Testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimizing systems (including field work, loop checks, FAT/SAT).
Required Education and skills: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Control Systems/Mechatronics Engineering, PLC programming (ladder logic, function block, structured text — IEC 61131-3).
SCADA/HMI development and industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, etc.).
Simulation and modeling (MATLAB, Simulink, Python).
Reading/creating electrical schematics, P&IDs, loop diagrams.
Instrumentation, motion control, drives, and sometimes robotics/vision systems.
Familiarity with safety systems (SIS, SIL ratings).
