Job Description

Oil and gas well drillers control the operation of drilling and hoisting equipment on drilling and service rigs, and direct the activities of the rig crew under supervision of the Rig Manager / Tool Pusher.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct rig crew in setting up rigs and drilling, completing or servicing oil and gas exploration and producing wells 
Operate controls of drill or service rig drilling and hoisting machinery 
Monitor drilling parameters – weight on bit, RPM, mud pressure, rate of penetration
Maintain records of drilling and servicing operations.

Requirements includes, High school Diploma, deep understanding of well control, hydraulics, drilling fluids
Leadership under pressure – you lead 4-6 men on a 12-hour shift
Mechanical aptitude – troubleshooting top drive, draw works, mud pumps
Physical stamina and mental alertness.
