Psychiatrist

Core responsibilities:

Conduct psychiatric evaluations: history-taking, mental status exam, risk assessment (suicide/homicide), and diagnostic formulation (DSM/ICD).
Develop and implement treatment plans (medication, psychotherapy, ECT, referrals).
Psychopharmacology: prescribe and monitor psychiatric medications, manage side effects, adjust regimens.
Provide psychotherapy or collaborate with therapists (CBT, supportive therapy, psychodynamic techniques as appropriate).
Inpatient care: admit, manage, and discharge patients; coordinate multidisciplinary rounds.
Crisis intervention and stabilization (suicidal, agitated, psychotic patients).
Consultation-liaison: advise other medical teams on psychiatric aspects of medical illness.

 Qualification: High school Diploma or equivalent,  Clinical skills: diagnostic assessment, psychopharmacology, risk assessment, familiarity with psychotherapy modalities.
Soft skills: empathy, clear communication, cultural competence, patience, ethical judgment.
Systems skills: care coordination, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, documentation and coding.
Crisis management and de-escalation skills.
