Rigger

Load assessment – Calculate the weight, center of gravity, and balance point of loads before a lift
Rigging setup – Select and attach appropriate rigging gear (slings, shackles, chains, wire ropes, hooks, spreader bars) based on load specifications
Equipment inspection – Check rigging gear, cranes, hoists, and other lifting equipment for wear, damage, or defects before each use
Signaling & communication – Direct crane/hoist operators using hand signals or radio during lifts
Route planning – Determine safe paths for moving loads, accounting for obstacles, power lines, and personnel
Structural setup – Erect and dismantle scaffolding, hoists, cable systems, and temporary supports.
