Core Responsibilities:
Setting up, operating, and maintaining drilling rigs and related equipment
Selecting and changing drill bits based on ground/rock conditions
Monitoring drilling progress, pressure, and depth using gauges and control panels
Adding or removing drill pipe/rods as the hole gets deeper
Managing drilling fluids (“mud”) to cool the bit, remove cuttings, and stabilize the hole
Interpreting geological data or well logs to adjust drilling technique
Coordinating with a drilling crew (derrickman, roughnecks, rig operators, etc.)
