Driller

Key responsibilities:

Operate and maintain drilling equipment (top drive/rotary table, mud pumps, hoisting system, BOPs).
Monitor drilling parameters (weight on bit, torque, RPM, rate of penetration, mud properties) and adjust operations to optimize performance.
Conduct pre-shift and post-shift briefings and handovers; maintain shift logs and drilling reports.
Enforce safety procedures, ensure PPE use, lead emergency response and well-control actions.
Perform BOP tests, pressure tests, and well-control checks; initiate well-control procedures if required.
Coordinate with company man, toolpushers, directional drillers, drilling engineers and service companies.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues and arrange/perform routine maintenance or repairs.

Required qualifications & skills

High school diploma or equivalent;  Knowledge of drilling mechanics, drilling fluids, and well-control principles.
Ability to read/interpret drilling programs, logs, and basic schematics.
Strong leadership, communication and decision-making under pressure.
Problem solving and preventative maintenance skills.
Familiarity with drilling instrumentation and telemetry systems.
