Kitchen Steward

Core Responsibilities:

Dishwashing & sanitation — washing pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment by hand or using industrial dishwashers
Kitchen cleanliness — cleaning floors, walls, work surfaces, walk-in coolers/freezers, and cooking equipment (ovens, grills, fryers, exhaust hoods)
Waste management — disposing of trash and food waste, managing recycling, keeping garbage areas clean
Equipment maintenance — ensuring kitchen tools and machines are in working order; reporting damaged equipment
Inventory support — receiving and storing deliveries, rotating stock (FIFO — first in, first out), organizing storerooms
Food prep assistance — sometimes helping with basic prep (washing/peeling vegetables, portioning) when needed.
