Welder

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, sketches, and welding symbols.
Measure, calculate dimensions, and lay out parts.
Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, cleaning, bevelling, and aligning metal surfaces.
Select the correct welding process, equipment, filler material, and settings.

Clean up slag, spatter, and excess weld; grind or polish as needed.
Maintain and set up welding equipment and tools.
Follow strict safety procedures, including use of PPE (helmet, gloves, protective clothing, respirators).
Collaborate with fabricators, fitters, engineers, and supervisors.
Document work and maintain a clean, safe workspace.

Requirements:

Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
Attention to detail and spatial awareness
Ability to read blueprints and technical documents
Physical stamina (standing, bending, working in awkward positions or confined spaces)
Good vision (including depth perception and color vision in many cases)
Knowledge of metallurgy basics, safety standards, and different metals
Problem-solving and ability to work independently or in teams
Education, Training, and Qualifications.
