Reading blueprints and construction plans to determine specifications, dimensions, and materials needed
Laying out the foundation and reference points using string lines, levels, and plumb bobs
Mixing mortar or concrete to the correct consistency
Laying bricks, blocks, or stone in courses, using trowels to spread mortar evenly
Checking work with levels, squares, and plumb lines to ensure accuracy and alignment
Cutting and shaping materials to fit around openings (doors, windows, corners) using saws, chisels, or masonry cutting tools
Building decorative or structural features: arches, fireplaces, chimneys, retaining walls, patios.
