Key responsibilities:
Safely operate assigned crane(s) according to manufacturer specs and company procedures.
Plan lifts: read plans, calculate loads, determine center-of-gravity, select rigging and lifting points.
Follow load charts, tag line technique, and rated capacities; never exceed crane limits.
Perform daily pre-start and post-operation inspections; document defects and report maintenance needs.
Coordinate with riggers, signal persons, and site supervisors; obey hand signals and radio commands.
Set up and level crane, including outriggers and mats as required.
Secure loads for transport and placement; attach/detach slings, hooks, shackles.
Complete required safety, maintenance, and lift paperwork (inspection logs, lift plans, incident reports).
