Key Duties and Responsibilities
Protecting non-painted areas (floors, furniture, trim, fixtures, landscaping) with drop cloths, tarps, masking tape, and paper.
Preparing surfaces by cleaning, scraping, sanding, wire-brushing, removing old paint/wallpaper, filling holes/cracks with putty/plaster/caulk, and applying primers or sealers.
Measuring areas, calculating paint/material quantities, and providing estimates or following job specifications.
Mixing paints/colors for consistency and matching samples.
Applying finishes using brushes, rollers, or sprayers (including airless or HVLP equipment); this may involve multiple coats.
Working at heights on ladders, scaffolding, or lifts.
