Core Responsibilities:
Read blueprints and plans to determine dimensions and materials needed
Lay bricks, concrete blocks, stone, or other masonry units in mortar to construct/repair walls, foundations, chimneys, walkways, and other structures
Mix mortar or concrete to the right consistency
Measure and mark guidelines using string, levels, and squares to keep courses straight and plumb
Cut and shape materials to fit using trowels, hammers, or power saws/grinders
Apply mortar joints and finish/tool joints for weatherproofing and appearance
Install reinforcing rods or wire mesh for structural strength.
