Read and interpret blueprints, load charts, and work orders to plan lifts
Select appropriate rigging gear (slings, chains, shackles, hooks, cables) based on load weight and shape
Attach and secure loads to cranes, hoists, or other lifting equipment
Calculate load weights, angles, and center of gravity to ensure safe lifting
Inspect rigging equipment for wear, damage, or defects before and after use
Signal and communicate with crane operators (hand signals or radio) during lifts
Erect and dismantle scaffolding, derricks, and other temporary structures.
