Core Duties:
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols
Select appropriate welding equipment and techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick/SMAW, Flux-Cored, etc.) based on materials and job requirements
Prepare metal surfaces before welding — cleaning, grinding, cutting, and aligning parts
Set up and operate welding machines, torches, and related tools
Join metal parts by applying heat and appropriate filler materials
Cut, shape, and repair metal using tools such as plasma cutters or oxy-acetylene torches
Inspect finished welds for strength, quality, and adherence to specifications
Monitor and adjust welding variables (heat, current, gas flow) to maintain quality.
