Primary Responsibilities:
Continuously monitor networks, systems, and security tools (especially SIEM platforms) for unusual activity, alerts, and potential threats.
Investigate and triage security incidents, determine severity and impact, and respond according to playbooks (containment, eradication, recovery).
Perform vulnerability assessments and scans, prioritize findings, and coordinate remediation.
Install, configure, and maintain security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), endpoint detection and response (EDR), antivirus, and encryption solutions.
Required Skills and Education
Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information technology, information systems, or a related field, Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, VPNs, protocols).
Operating systems (Windows, Linux) and system administration.
SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, QRadar, ELK).
Vulnerability scanners (Nessus, Qualys), EDR, IDS/IPS, and log analysis.
Basic scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automation and log parsing.
