Job Details
Plans, designs, and oversees the drilling of oil, gas, water, or geothermal wells — balancing safety, cost, and technical performance from well planning through execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform engineering calculations: hydraulics, torque and drag, hole cleaning, wellbore stability, pressure control (kick tolerance, well control).
Prepare drilling procedures, AFEs (Authorization for Expenditure), and cost estimates.
Select and coordinate rigs, equipment, and third-party service providers (mud, cementing, directional drilling, wireline).
Monitor real-time drilling operations, troubleshoot problems (stuck pipe, lost circulation, kicks, wellbore instability).
Required Skills & Qualifications:
High school Diploma or equivalent, proficiency in drilling engineering software, knowledge of API/ISO standards and regulatory requirements, strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills and willingness to travel to rig sites (onshore/offshore).
