Key responsibilities:
Diagnose and repair faults in motors, starters, drives (VFDs), switchgear, transformers, relays and control panels.
Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, sensors and instrumentation; coordinate control-system changes with automation teams.
Execute and document lockout/tagout and other electrical safety procedures.
Carry out electrical testing: insulation resistance, earth/ground tests, power quality, thermal imaging.
Lead or support root cause investigations (FMEA, 5 Whys), corrective actions and reliability improvements.
Typical qualifications & skills
Diploma in Electrical Engineering / B.E. / B.Tech. in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics or equivalent technical qualification, Power distribution knowledge (LV/MV), protective relays, switchgear and transformers.
Motor control, starters, VFDs and motor protection.
PLC/HMI programming basics and troubleshooting (Siemens, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley common).
Instrumentation basics: current/voltage sensing, transducers, analog/digital I/O.
Electrical testing: megger, clamp meter, multimeter, power analyzer, thermal camera, earth tester.
