Pediatric Nurse

Key responsibilities:

Assess pediatric patients’ physical and developmental status; perform and document focused and full nursing assessments.
Plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care based on assessment and physician orders.
Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments; calculate and verify pediatric dosages.
Monitor vital signs, growth parameters, pain, and responses to interventions.
Provide family-centered education and discharge teaching tailored to caregiver literacy and needs.
Coordinate care with physicians, multidisciplinary team members, child life specialists, and social work.
Respond to pediatric emergencies; participate in codes/rapid response as needed.
Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the medical record.

Core skills & Education includes: High school Diploma or equivalent,  Pediatric assessment across developmental stages.
Pediatric medication dosing and IV/line skills.
Communication with children and families; trauma-informed and culturally competent care.
Clinical judgment, triage, and prioritization.
Emotional resilience and de-escalation skills.
Teamwork, documentation accuracy, and time management.
