Rigger

Plan and prepare rigging tasks by reading lift plans, load charts, and site drawings.
Select and inspect rigging equipment (slings, shackles, hooks, spreader bars, wire rope, chain) before use; tag out damaged gear.
Attach, balance and secure loads for hoisting; determine correct sling angles, hitch types and capacity.
Signal and communicate with crane operators during lifts (hand signals, radios); act as lead rigger on complex lifts.
Install, dismantle and move machinery, structural elements, stage sets, or cargo as required.
Perform routine maintenance on rigging equipment and keep inspection/maintenance records.
Enforce safety procedures, hazard assessments and permit requirements (e.g., confined-space, hot work, work-at-height).
