Structural Engineer

Typical responsibilities:

Perform structural analysis and calculations for loads, stresses, deflections, stability, and vibrations.
Develop and produce structural design documents: drawings, specifications, schedules, and calculation reports.
Select appropriate materials and structural systems (steel, concrete, timber, masonry, composite).
Model structures using engineering software and verify designs against codes and standards.
Perform structural inspections, assessments, retrofit/repair design and prepare condition reports.
Review design intent from architects and integrate structural solutions; resolve constructability issues.
Prepare cost estimates, quantity take offs, and support project budgeting.
Produce/shop-check structural details and coordinate with MEP and architectural disciplines.
Provide support during tendering and construction: respond to RFIs, issue design clarifications, review contractor submittals, and perform site visits/inspections.
Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and quality control procedures.

Qualification/requirement:

High school Diploma or equivalent,  Structural analysis & design: STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, RISA, Robot Structural Analysis.
CAD & detailing: AutoCAD, Revit Structure, Tekla Structures, Dynamo for automation.
Finite Element Analysis (FEA): ANSYS, Abaqus (for specialized tasks).
Office tools: MS Excel (advanced spreadsheets), BIM coordination tools, Bluebeam or similar markup tools.
Codes & standards knowledge: local building codes, ACI, AISC, Eurocodes, ASCE/ASCE 7, IS codes (region-dependent). Strong written and verbal communication (reporting, client interactions).
Project and time management; ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Problem-solving and attention to detail.
